Youth Group News!!!!
WOW!!! What a busy month of July we had. Leading up to July, on June 30th, we drove to Jonesborough for the Jonesborough Days Festival. We played games, listened to live music, shopped at the vendor’s tables, and got some sweet treats. It was a great night for our youth to just hangout before our big trip to New York. We met at Bethlehem at 5:30am on Sunday, July 9th and drove all day to New York. We stayed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. We went sightseeing, served and fed approximately 120 homeless people in Hoboken, NJ. It was truly a great experience. We left there wanting to stay and help more days. We developed relationships and look forward to returning to the shelter. On July 22nd, our youth drove out to Sycamore Shoals to watch Scott Pruitt and Elizabeth Treece in a reenactment about the Siege at Fort Watauga. It was a great performance!!! The youth are proud of our members at Bethlehem. On Sunday, August 13th, we are going to the Kingsport Aquatic Center for a back to school pool party. This invite is for all the youth, Jr. youth (infant- 5th grade), and their families. We will leave Bethlehem at 1:30 and caravan to the aquatic center. We are opening this up to the Jr. Youth and their families as well. Our last meeting will be on Saturday, August 26th. We’ll be writing “Thank You” cards to the congregation and working/sprucing up our youth group room. Thank you again for all your prayers and support. Our trip would not have happened without you. We look forward to sharing how we have ministered to others in our thank you cards and Youth Sunday.
