Youth Group News!!!
Once again… CONGRATULATIONS TO ELIZABETH WUDTKE!!!!!! She graduated from Homelife Academy on Saturday, May 18th. She plans to attend TCAT, in Elizabethton, where she’ll study welding. She is in our thoughts and prayers. On Saturday, May 25th, we tested our bowling skills against each other at Holiday Lanes. We had slushies at Sonic and talked, as a group, about where we are in our faith with Jesus Christ. We are still taking donations for our annual rummage sale. This year’s rummage sale will be in the late summer/early fall. Furthermore, Pastor Steve Misch is the Mission and Ministry Facilitator of the Texas District-LCMS where he serves as a resource for the pastors and the congregations in that area. He is the host of the Lutheran Hour Ministries Creation: The Word, Creation, and Faith, a series that our monthly Saturday class is currently using. Pastor Misch explains the failed Theory of Evolution, a theory that has become almost the atheist’s faith and used to discredit the creation narrative contained in the Book of Genesis. Pastor Misch plunges through the various methods Christians have errantly used to reconcile the Biblical narrative with the Theory of Evolution. He has graciously agreed to visit Bethlehem and share his knowledge of this failed theory and how it is contributing to the loss of our youth as they are bombarded with evolution theory in our schools. Pastor Misch will be featured at a dinner on Friday, June 7th which will be held at the Carnegie Hotel starting at 6PM. The cost of this event is $20 for Bethlehem members and $25 for other participants. Members of the youth group will be paid for by youth funds. He will also address our Saturday class the following day at 9AM. Everyone is welcome to attend this session. On Sunday, June 16th, our youth group will go on a hiking trip. The time is TBA. On Sunday, June 23rd, our youth will head to Camp Linn Haven for the High School Servant Event Week. We will be there all week with 13 other youth groups doing service projects in the community such as: hosting a VBS for Crossnore School, landscaping for Habitat for Humanity, etc. Youth Sunday will be on Sunday, June 30th. Thank you again for your continued support and prayers for our youth.
