Youth Group News!!!
We are so excited to announce that the signage on the church van is done!!!  A huge “Thank You” to Paula Treece for stepping up and taking on this project.  If you have a second to step out into the side parking lot to look at it… We think you will be pleasantly surprised by it.  Our youth have really grown together this past month through GREAT Bible studies on The Apologetics on Sunday mornings and by weekly youth meetings on Saturday nights.  We look forward to the month of September.  We plan to meet at Bethlehem on the 12th, 19th, and 26th from 6:30-9pm.  We plan to watch the movie “A Case for Christ.”  It goes hand in hand with what we’re talking about in our Sunday school classes.  The Case for Christ is a 2017 American Christian drama film directed by Jon Gunn and written by Brian Bird, based on a true story that was inspired by the 1998 book of the same name by Lee Strobel. The film stars Mike Vogel, Erika Christensen, Faye Dunaway and Robert Forster, and follows an atheist journalist who looks to disprove his wife's Christian faith.  In fact, he only finds his faith in Jesus Christ while trying to disprove Christianity.  If you’ve never seen the movie or read the book, we highly recommend that you check it out.  Lee Strobel also wrote the book “A Case for Faith” which is another great read.  We look forward to sharing more pictures with you from our youth meetings this upcoming month.  Thank you for your continued prayers and support in our group.

Youth Group News!!!
Our biggest fundraiser of the year took place on Saturday, July 11th from 8-2.  With your generous donations, we were able to raise over $600.  We've had some really good meetings during this time of COVID-19.  Even though our in person outreach ministries for others in our community have changed, we've been able to reach people through our Facebook page.  Please don't forget to periodically check Bethlehem's page and share it on your story.  The month of August will be different for a lot of us.  While we're usually headed back to school at this time, our youth are learning new platforms and innovative ways to virtually connect with others.  We look forward to sharing the love over Christ by sharing the gospel via the internet.  That is going to be our main topic of discussion in our meetings in August.  We will be talking about new ways of living out Matthew 28:18-20 online.  There's definitely benefits to living in the virtual world to share His love with so many more people.  Is it the preferred way??? No... It is, however, a way that we can minister to those that may not be able to make it to church.  Please keep us in your prayers as we venture into new territory to continue to be His hands and feet in a unique way during this time of the pandemic. Lastly, please continue to pray for Heidi and Annie.  They are continuing their internship with the pro-life organization Center for Bio-Ethical Reform (CBR) in Knoxville.  They are thankful for your support and generosity.  We are also planning to continue our Bible study this month every Sunday from 9:15-10:30 in the youth room.  We hope you all had a wonderful month of July.  Please continue to keep our group in your prayers.

Youth Group News!!!

Hey everyone!!!  I hope everyone is having a great month so far.  At this time, our youth will not be meeting in the month of April per advisement from the Board of Directors and state legislators.  However, after speaking with our youth over the phone… many of them have asked me to forward some of my nightly devotionals to the newsletter.  These nightly devotionals have led to some great conversations amidst the pandemic we are faced with at this time.  We hope that the following devotion will give you peace during Easter and the month of April:
"fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."  Isaiah 41:10. I know that some of us might be struggling today, and most likely some have been struggling for some time now! Let this verse bring you peace! Don't be afraid or dismayed because God is with you and he will give you strength to battle whatever it is you are going through! The devil wants to separate you from God and get you to doubt His love, but Jesus wants you to lean on him and rely on him! When you finally let go and rely on him he will hold you firm with his righteous right hand! So no matter what you are going through in your life, completely rely on God and allow him to walk with you through the struggle or pain! Rest in His Embrace! Just be still and know you are loved by God! Be obedient to Him and let Him guide you through this season of your life!  The youth love you all and appreciate you!

Dr. Whaley and I are excited about the progress of our Bible study on the Apologetics with the youth during the Sunday school.  We’ve had an average of 7 people attending the class.  We will keep everyone informed on how the study is going with the youth in every newsletter.   We are currently discussing who Jesus says that He was.  We will continue to meet every Sunday in the youth room from 9:15-10:15am.  This past month we served food to families through Family Promise on Friday, February 7th.  It was a beautiful thing to watch our youth interact with the families that are part of the program.  We love sharing God’s love through this simple act of kindness.  We were also able to share His love through prayer at the Medical Center with those who were in need of prayer.  The individuals we prayed with were VERY appreciative that we came.  Please read below for our upcoming events in March.  Thanks again for your continued prayers and support.

Youth Group News!!!

On Saturday, January 18th, we went over to Milligan College to see Halie Padgett basketball against Columbia International.  Halie has done amazing things with the basketball team at Milligan College.  Going to see her play is just one of many ways we can show Halie our support from the church.  Our youth loved watching her play.  Halie was so appreciative that we were able to come out and cheer her on.  On Sunday, January 26th, we spent time numbering cups for the The Chili Bowl Fundraiser.  It is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and will be on Sunday, February 2nd.  We also watched the Christian movie “Facing the Giants” in the youth room downstairs.  “Facing the Giants” is a 2006 American Christian drama sports film directed by and starring Alex Kendrick. The supporting cast was composed of volunteers from Sherwood Baptist Church, and it is the second film that Sherwood Pictures has done. Shot in Albany, Georgia, the film relates an underdog story about American football from a Christian worldview. Lastly, Dr. Whaley and I are excited about the progress of our Bible study on the Apologetics with the youth during the Sunday school.  We will keep everyone informed on how the study is going with the youth in every newsletter.  We will meet every Sunday in the youth room from 9:15-10:15am.  Also, we’ll be serving food to families through Family Promise on Friday, February 7th from 6-9pm.  We look forward to sharing God’s love through this simple act of kindness.  We’ll also have a youth meeting on Sunday, February 16th from 6:30-8:30.  Thanks again for your continued prayers and support.
