Youth Group News!!!!
WOW!!! What a busy November we had. On Saturday, November 19th, we attended a Thanksgiving Dinner with eight other youth groups. Mr. Wilson graciously volunteered to do the majority of the cooking. He donated his time and efforts to cook a HUGE turkey, corn, mac & cheese, rolls, mashed potatoes, and a large cake. The youth are truly grateful for his contribution to our Thanksgiving feast. It was a great time to connect with many different youth groups in the tri city region and share things that we’re thankful for, have worship, and pray. This Saturday, December 3rd, we have an exceptional opportunity to explore the Old Testament in much greater depth than we’ve ever had before. Professor Don Hudson, the Chair of the Philosophy and Religion College, King University, will be with us to walk us through the history of the Old Testament and provide his insights into the archeology of the Holy Land. These sessions will provide us with a historical background into the events leading up to the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We’ll take away an increased appreciation for all Old Testament stories we’ve grown up with as Christians and how they fit together in our understanding of the Bible. This is a rare opportunity and Dr. Hudson is willing to spend this time with us. Furthermore, we’ll be raking Paula Baskin’s yard on Sunday, December 4th. We’ll begin raking at 1 o’clock. She is providing lunch for us. The youth group will also provide pizzas to the Advent worship service on Wednesday, December 9th. We’ll also be attending a “Multiply” worship service on Saturday, December 17th. We would also like to invite everyone to our annual Christmas program that will take place on Sunday, December 19th. Once again, we are thankful for you. Keep your faith, hope, and love in the Lord. Merry Christmas!!!! ---David Nutter
