Youth Group News!!!
 
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!  December had a lot to offer our youth.  A few of our favorite days from the month of December was going to North Carolina to deliver presents to students at Crossnore School (a foster home/school), caroling with the congregation, the Christmas play, and going to Dollywood as a group for the day.  December was one of our busiest months of the year.  A HUGE “Thank You” to our Sunday School teachers (Ann Larson, Misty Whaley, Susan Burkey, Patty Harmon, Darcy Groen, and Annie Whaley) who have worked really hard with our junior youth to create a beautiful Christmas Program.  January will be another busy month.  On Sunday, January 5th  we’ll head over the Bristol Motor Speedway in Lights to skate at their indoor skating rink as a group from 6-8pm.  On Saturday, January 18th, we’re going to head over to Milligan College to see Halie Padgett play basketball against Columbia International.  Halie has done amazing things with the basketball team at Milligan College.  Going to see her play is just one of many ways we can show Halie our support from the church.  If you would like to join us…please do.  The more the merrier.  On Sunday, January 26th, we are going to watch “War Room” in the youth room downstairs.  War Room is about a family with great jobs, a beautiful daughter (Alena Pitts) and a dream house.  The Jordans seem to have it all. Appearances can be deceiving, however, as husband Tony (T.C. Stallings) flirts with temptation and wife Elizabeth (Priscilla Shirer) becomes increasingly bitter, crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage. Their lives take an unexpected turn for the better when Elizabeth meets her newest client, Miss Clara (Karen Abercrombie), who encourages the couple to find happiness through prayer.  Our youth will really dig deep in the importance of prayer in their own personal lives.  Lastly, Dr. Whaley and I are excited about starting a Bible study on the Apologetics with the youth during the Sunday school.  We will keep everyone informed on how the study is going with the youth in every newsletter.  Thanks again for your continued prayers and support.
