Youth Group News!!!
June was another busy month for our youth.  Four of our youth have graduated from college and are currently finalizing plans for the fall.  Our prayers are with you.  We also took a group to Doe River Gorge.  We hope you enjoy the pictures.  Johnny faced her fears and did The Blob.  The Blob is a giant inflatable in the water.  You stand fifteen feet in the air and take a leap of faith onto The Blob sending a ripple effect to the other end.  At the other end of The Blob, where a person who just took the plunge will be, is sent soaring into the air from the ripple effect.  Johnny LOVED sending other youth into the air.  July will be busy as well.  We are planning another hike to Roan Mountain on Sunday, July 8th from 1-5.  This is open to our jr. youth and their families.  We will be roasting s’mores at the top of the mountain and bonding with each other as a group.  If you would like to join our youth on this trip---please contact David Nutter at 931-273-5275.  We would love to have you hike with us and get to know you on a more personal level.  On Sunday, July 15 we’ll head to the bowling alley to bowl a few games as a group from 6:30-8:30.  On Saturday, July 28th we’ll head to Sycamore Shoals State Park and attend Tennessee’s official outdoor drama, presented by local performers against the backdrop of Fort Watauga.   We’ll learn about the Revolution as told by the Overmountain Men: colonists who defied British law and settled on Cherokee lands. These settlers formed an independent government, made treaties with the Cherokee, defended their homes, and fought a British army at the epic battle of King’s Mountain.  By attending this, our youth group will learn about the history in the area while supporting one of our very own, Scott Pruitt, during the reenactment.  As you can see, we have a lot planned for our youth.  Please feel free to join us any time.  Thank you again for your continued support and prayers in our youth.
